An algorithmic sound work exploring the uneasy collaboration between human and machine.
Built in Pure Data, the piece uses randomised machine learning algorithms to govern both micro- and macroscopic structures, leaving the performer to navigate and manipulate the chaotic middle ground.
The system evolves in real time, undermining predictable metre and form, and gradually distorting its own internal logic.
Commissioned for DOSE, Saigon, the work stages a sonic resistance to control by allowing automation to unravel itself from within.
