Rudimentary Transducers
A fully scored and programmed sound sculpture using 60 vibrating motors. In contrast to ambient or aleatoric sound art, this piece is a meditation on structure, force, and the physicality of oscillation - a grid that hums, shakes, and shudders to life as material, not metaphor.
Actuator-based sound sculpture with 60 vibrating motors
Actuator-based sound sculpture | 2018 | Duration: 10 minutes
An array of 60 vibrating motors arranged on a sculptural surface, each independently controlled to form a precisely timed spatial composition.
The work explores vibration as composition in its most elemental electroacoustic form.
In contrast to ambient or aleatoric sound art, this piece was fully scored and programmed - a meditation on structure, force, and the physicality of oscillation.
The result: a grid that hums, shakes, and shudders to life, not as metaphor, but as material.
